Gio Singing

Well, I have really been quite terrible about this blog lately.  No real excuse but I can pretend it is Enzo who honestly is the easiest puppy in the world.  A dog who sleeps 22 hours/day cannot really be too much of a burden.  So, no real excuse other than sheer laziness.
Every morning and evening we head to the park. Not sure how much longer Enzo will fit in his favorite perch.

Brotherly love

With so little rain all spring, the sprinklers are often running in the park in the evenings.  Gio takes full advantage.

Gio surely looks like quite a tasty morsel of meat.  Fortunately, Enzo only "tickles me wiv his teeth," says Gio.

Gio and his best friend Grace had a wild time in the sprinklers last week.  And since wet, nearly-naked children are a big no-no here, we got quite a few shocked looks from the babushkas on the walk home.  Granted, it was nearly 90 degrees, but still, pneumonia will certainly strike.

Last night we visted our friends Nina & Marius.  Here is shot of what our two boys did the entire 4 hours. Bouncing is Gio's favorite form of activity (and Enzo's?  Resting.)  I wonder how I could get a trampoline into our apartment?
Is it me, or has Enzo gotten bigger in just the week's worth of photos I had on the camera??
We hardly ever can leave the park without at least a quick visit to the bouncy castle.

When he is not busy hugging Enzo (and pulling his tail, poking his ears, sitting on top of him...), Gio has been spending quite a bit of time singing.  Here are a few clips:

And if you could not quite get enough....
And since I am trying to really overload you with Gio videos....here is one of him eating yogurt, his all time favorite food....

Happy Father's Day next week to many of you.  Enjoy the end of school and the start of summer.  We will see many of you soon upon our arrival in DC June 25th.  And do not worry about Enzo.  For the 10 days Paolo will be in the US Enzo will be lovingly cared for by our dear nanny.  But oh, how we will miss him.

Enzo at the Park

I have not had time to take many pictures or to come up with any brilliant prose these days.  A toddler and a rapidly growing puppy are keeping all hands full.  Gio is working hard on potty training ("A pee is coming, a pee is coming!!") while Enzo is working hard on avoiding walking down all of the stairs to go outside to pee.  Consequently Paolo and I are taking turns carrying him down- something we know we will not be able to do very soon due to his very rapidly increasing size.  Tonight I did manage to lure him down half of the stairs with bits of proscuitto and Parmigiano cheese- he is an Italian dog after all.  Our worry is how our nanny will get him down in 3 weeks when we leave for the US.  Enzo is truly a mellow, sleepy dog- a great representative of his breed.  Today I actually witnessed him peeing in the grass while still lying down.  Yes, he is that lazy. Here, just to assure you that he is not actually a stuffed toy, is a video of his animated side- when he encounters other dogs at Shevchenko (Gio calls it "Shev") Park:
